At some point everyone will need their carpet and upholstery cleaning. It's inevitable, spills and stains will build up overtime, causing discolouration, bacteria and unpleasant smells.
The choices are simply...
- ‘Do it yourself’
- Bring in a ‘PROFESSIONAL’.
How often you will need your carpet cleaning, varies depending upon how busy your household is.
If you have pets and you wear your shoes in the house, you are more likely to need to clean more often. On average, people go for twice a year. Once in Winter and again in Summer.
You may decide for SELF CLEAN. Then the main method used would be to spot clean any stains, using homemade solutions or chemicals purchased.
Then you hire a machine and follow the instructions accordingly, using supplied shampoos.
Depending upon how knowledgeable you are, this method can cause varying degrees of results.

Over wetting can cause shrinkage, rippling, carpet mould, a sofa you cannot sit on for days, Smells etc. this can lead to needing to replace your carpet, or possibly your sofa as well.

If used incorrectly, they can set in the stain. So, rather than improving the look of your furnishings, the end result could be that the unsightly stain becomes a permanent one.
